Ok,I recently heard of one of my neighbors, who became a victim of identity theft. Apparently, someone from her office had hacked into her ebay account, and misused her credit card information on some other sites as well. Can anyone tell me what I must do to prevent this from happening to me, as I also purchase lots of stuff online?

Hey Blinggizmo, there is some stuff you can do to protect yourself while transacting online. Firstly, you must install some sort of antivirus with internet security on your machine. Secondly, you should use a browser with good anti-malware security features. Some browsers are better than others at this. I’d recommend IE 8 for a safe browsing experience.

Thanks! I read up on this saw this report from NSS labs, where they've found that Internet Explorer's latest version, IE 8 edged out Firefox and other browsers in tackling malware (81% to 27%) and other phishing threats.
